Yes. If the perfume sampler has the same name as the fragrance list, it will be the same scent, though they may smell slightly different as every product slightly alters the presentation of the scent. To make the perfume samplers, we take an aliquot of fragrance oil from our stock and place it in the sampler vial and cap it (so the sampler is 100% fragrance oil). To make the Travel perfumes, we add one part fragrance oil to one part of our solid base, so the travel perfume is 50% pure fragrance oil. For the other products, the amount of fragrance oil we add varies by the oil, but is typically around 2-3% (making the scent you experience similar to using a body spray). The perfume samplers tend to have a stronger scent for the same amount of oil, because there are no additions masking the scent. All of our products will be stronger than fragrances diluted in ethanol (like body sprays) as ethanol significantly reduces the strength of virtually all fragrances.

- Are your perfumes and fragrances safe for the skin?
We only offer fragrances which are generally regarded as skin safe by the US perfume industry. We do not manufacture our own oils though we do create our own unique fragrances from "skin safe" components. Skin safe means that these fragrances typically do not elicit an immune response in most people. There are rare circumstances when people do have allergies to particular fragrances, which is why we recommend that everyone test our products before routine use, but to date, we have never had someone report an adverse reaction to any fragrance we offer. We do recommend that you avoid using perfume oils on skin that has been cut or is inflamed. If you ever experience an adverse reaction to one of our products, we would like to know.

- Your perfume samplers are 100% Fragrance Oil, can pure fragrance oils aggravate the skin?
Some people are irritated by common Perfumes, but this irritation is usually irritation caused by the denatured alcohol (ethanol) used to dilute the actual fragrance oil. One of the reasons we decided to off our perfume samplers as 100% fragrance oil is because they are less likely to irritate the skin than an oil diluted in ethanol. We only offer fragrance oils which are generally considered safe, and have never had a reported adverse reaction. In fact, our Travel perfumes are 50% fragrance oil, but are less likely to cause an immune reaction than virtually any ethanol based perfume. This is because ethanol irritation can promote inflammation leading to allergy development. If a person has a true allergy to the fragrance oil, there will be a reaction no matter how little of the fragrance oil is used. The best thing to do is test before use.

- When will your Perfume store be open?
We will be opening our perfume shop in January. The perfumes offered will be the same fragrances that can be found in our current products, as well as some extras. We have not decided how best to package the perfumes or how concentrated to make the perfume oils. Our hope with offering the perfume samplers is to get some feedback from our customers about the scents they like and how strong to make the perfumes. Our current thinking is to offer a smaller size using pure fragrance oils that can be applied with an applicator (cotton ball, glass rod, finger) and a larger size (2oz) where the fragrance is diluted in a carrier oil (not ethanol) so it can be sprayed on without being too strong.

- Why did you decide to use pure Fragrance Oils in your Perfume Samplers?
We are committed to providing the highest quality products at the lowest price possible. When considering offering perfume samplers, the one thing we were sure of was that we did not want to add anything to the samplers that would detract from the qulity of the samples (for example, adding ethanol). The Fragrance oils themselves are considered very safe, so we felt that our clients would have the best user experience with pure fragrance oils.

- What exactly is a fragrance oil?
So many plants and animals produce scents as a means of communication. Animals produce musks to attract a mate or detract a predator. Flowers products scents in order to attract pollinators. Virtually all of these scents come from two classes of molecules (ethers and esters), both of which are non-polar, meaning they will not dissolve in water. Since these compounds are liquid and will not dissolve in water, they are referred to as oils though chemically they are not at all similar to vegetable oils. A fragrance oil refers to the scent in its pure form.

- How does a fragrance oil differ from an essential oil?
Both terms are so broad and so commonly interchanged that it is difficult to distinguish. Essential Oil generally refers to a mix of oils extracted directly from the plant. They are hailed as "all natural," but they are not pure. Some essential oils have medicinal effects because there are other types of ethers and ester (similar in structure to scents) which were produced by the plant to be anti-bacterial. Essential Oils are an extraction of everything that does not dissolve in water, they are not pure (containing many different compounds, many of which can be allergenic. One must be very careful applying essential oils to the skin and many essential oils should not be used long term because they can elicit an allergic response. Fragrance Oils differ in that they are generally pure (not other compounds mixed in). Because the perfume oil is pure, the scent is typically stronger and there is a much lower risk of developing allergies.
